i just got back from my bi-monthly appointment at the perinatal clinic. this morning was a little different because i drank orange-flavored glucose syrup (i thought it would be disgusting, but it wasn't that bad!) and then had blood drawn to screen for gestational diabetes. they will also screen my blood for anemia and let me know the results of both tomorrow. apparently, anemia is pretty common with multiples because they steal all of their mom's iron! it's simple fix though- take a supplement every day.
everything else looks good: maggie's heart was beating away at 144 bpm and emmett's was right with her at 141 bpm. both babies are lying sideways (transverse) with their heads right next to each other. let's hope they figure out where their heads are supposed to be in the next few weeks!
today i met another doctor in the practice (there are 8 total) and i really liked her. i have been trying to schedule my appointments so that i meet everyone, that way, at least it won't be a total stranger that walks in to deliver our babies on their birth day!
