there are some things that i have been looking forward to since we were first expecting emmett and magnolia, and taking them to explore a pumpkin patch is one of them. we went to portland for a quick trip this past weekend, and before we left town on sunday, we headed to sauvie island for our first big pumpkin adventure. the weather was perfect, the kids had a great time, and i was in photo-documentation heaven!
memorable moments included magnolia meticulously cleaning off a pumpkin in the middle of a dusty field, emmett trying to sit on as many pumpkins as he could, the tractor pulling all of us on our first hay ride (maggie delightedly standing up for the bumpy ride, emmett slightly nervous about the loud motor), looking at animals in the barn, and the long walk through cabbage, corn and sunflowers to the field where the pumpkins were grown.
